May 4
The rain moved into Lancaster overnight, it was coming hard in the morning. I headed north shortly after 8:00, the rain never stopped all the way to Reading. I arrived shortly after 9:00, by 9:20 the game was called. No make-up date was immediately announced but it will happen when New Hampshire returns to town May 12 through 15. Talk about strange scheduling-the Fisher Cats play twice in Reading this season, each time for four days and they are all within a two-week period. The clubs will finish the current series with another 11:05 start on Thursday. It was still raining when I returned home in late morning but in the afternoon it cleared off and brightened up, in the evening we played street hockey at the rink. It was an East Division night, three games on the schedule. Don and Ron refereed, Brienna ran the clock. The rain wasn't gone completely, we had a few drops here and there but nothing that mattered. It was windy and chilly, it felt more like November than May. It's supposed to be somewhat more comfortable on Thursday, at least the rain will be gone. Take care, thanks for reading.
