Wednesday night at the ballpark for game #2 with Hagerstown, after an eight-run loss on Tuesday the Stormers fell on this night by a count of 13-0. The first two batters for the Boxcars went yard back-to-back in the first inning and the result was never really in doubt from that point, recently-returned Max Green started for the Stormers and suffered the loss. On Thursday the series wrapped up and on this night it was 100% a case of role reversal. After spotting Hagerstown two runs in the third the Stormers came back to tie it on Joseph Carpenter's RBI groundout and Brandon Wagner's solo home run in the fourth. In the sixth newcomer Dave Matthews (the ballplayer, not the musician) gave the Stormers the lead with an RBI hit, Yeison Coca's two-run shot made it 5-2. In the home seventh all hell broke loose, the Stormers sent fifteen men to the plate and the only three who didn't score were the three who were retired. By the time the smoke cleared it was 17-2, the club had nine hits in the inning including back-to-back home runs by Carpenter (a three-run drive over the picnic tents in right) and Ariel Sandoval (solo). Also in on the assault were Nick Lucky with a two-run single, Mason Martin with an RBI hit, Alex Isola with two hits and a ribbie and Brandon Wagner with a run-scoring single. Noah Bremer (another recent returnee from the '24 club) started and went the first six innings, Jackson Rees was the winner in relief. The homestand continues over the weekend with Staten Island coming to town. Take care, thanks for reading.
