June 13-15

Friday the 13th (the lone such date on the year's calendar) in York for the first time in 2025, the Gastonia Ghost Peppers were the opponent. The Revolution won the Atlantic League title in 2024 defeating Charlestown in the Finals after eliminating the Stormers in the Semis. For Gastonia this was their lone appearance in York, we had seen them in Lancaster on Opening Weekend. The game was scoreless into the last of the fourth inning before Jeffrey Wehler's solo home run put the Revs ahead 1-0. Gastonia scored twice in the sixth and carried that 2-1 lead into the home eighth, with two out the Revs loaded the bases. Bubba Alleyne was hit by the pitch to force home the tying run, William Simoneit followed with a walk scoring the lead run. In the ninth Cam Robinson closed out the 3-2 win, Noah Denoyer won it in relief of starter J.C. Ramirez (an old friend from Days Past in Happier Times Up North at a place I never talk about anymore). The rest of the weekend was quiet save for Saturday lunch with Jenny and her mother, there was no Sunday hockey in Rothsville. Mother's Day is usually the big issue but this time there was enough demand that we postponed for Father's Day. As it happened it rained overnight into Sunday, the games may not have happened anyway but we'll never know because it was a decision we were not forced to make. Take care, thanks for reading.
