December 15-17

Tuesday night hoops at McCaskey, the Red Tornado hosted Cedar Crest in a divisional matchup. CC is the current defending league champion and they lost a lot from that team to graduation but the pedigree is still there. The JPM JV dropped to 3-3 with a thirteen-point loss. the varsity game was the battle everybody expected. We trailed by ten at the quarter but rallied to lead by two at the half, entering the last quarter the lead was six and the boys were able to hold on 68-63. Nine players got into the game for JPM and eight of them scored, on this night Jaloney Porter was high man with twenty-two points. DeMere Salisbery hit doubles with fourteen, Amir Thompson-Hanson had thirteen, Kyle Brown had six. EJ Abernathy and Laron Gray had four each, Chris Leon scored three and Buddy Patterson added a field goal. The record stands at 4-2 overall and 2-0 in division, we travel to Manheim Township on Thursday (always a fun assignment). On Wednesday evening the Royals were back on home ice for the opener of a two-game series with the Adirondack Thunder. The visitors took a 1-0 lead in the game's first two minutes before Ben Meehan tied it seven minutes later. The remainder of regulation time was scoreless, in overtime it was That Man again as Hunter Johannes netted the OTGWG with forty-nine seconds left. The win is the fifth consecutive on home ice and improves the mark to 8-5 at home, 14-10-2 overall, Game #2 with the Thunder is on Friday night, the last home game before the holiday break. Take care, thanks for reading.
