November 26-29

The first Monday after Thanksgiving is the opening day of deer season in Pennsylvania, for that reason we did not play at the rink on Monday evening. Several guys on each team are hunters, Don and I agreed to let the guys have one night off to bag their deer before starting the Finals on Tuesday. As it turned out we wouldn't have played anyway, Monday was a miserably rainy day. On Tuesday the rain was gone and the temperatures turned colder, we were at the rink for Finals game #1. Risky Business led by one in the closing minute but the Misfits scored an extra-attacker goal to force overtime. Luckily the extra period lasted less than two minutes on this bitterly windy night, the Misfits won it in the OT to go up 1-0 in the series. On Wednesday morning I had my annual checkup with my heart doctor, all is good and I won't see to see him again for another year. Jenny was in town for an appointment of her own, the access van brought her on and I took her home for our lunch visit. After school I went over to McCaskey to give Coach Ramos the list of games I'll miss because of hockey. As it stands I miss seven of our twenty-two games and five of those are at home. On Thursday night at the rink it was not as cold or windy as Tuesday had been but it was still uncomfortable. All of the scoring on this night came in the second period, the Misfits netted two to Risky Business' one and held on the 2-1 verdict.
