August 7-11
The early part of the new week was quiet except for the usual morning errand runs, Wednesday lunch with Jenny and two nights of summer dek hockey at the rink. On Tuesday it was night #5 of the summer schedule featuring Green vs Gold and Orange vs Blue, they meet again for the final time on the 17th. Thursday night marked the two-thirds mark of the season with Green meeting Orange and Gold facing off against Blue, those matchups close out the schedule on the 22nd. On Friday we were at the ballpark, the Barnstormers hosted the Somerset Patriots in game #2 of a four-game series. The Stormers lost the opener on Thursday 9-3 and did not fare any better on this night. The Patriots led early 2-0 and were never headed winning easily 8-2. Garrett Weber accounted for both Barnstormer runs with a second-inning RBI double and a solo home run in the ninth. Jarrett Leverett got the start and took the loss. There are thunderstorms in the forecast for Saturday which is the usual night of the week when Jenny and Helen come to town for baseball so OF COURSE the weather forecast is discouraging but maybe we'll get lucky. Who knows at this point? Take care, thanks for reading.
