June 26-30
Not much going on Friday or Saturday except a lunch visit in Quarryville, it was all just as well since Saturday was a miserably rainy day. It was another "Santander Sunday" the next day, the Revolution hosted the Bridgeport Bluefish in a 5:00 doubleheader thanks to the Saturday game having been postponed. The Bluefish took a 5-0 lead in the opener and held on for a 5-3 win, it was almost 7:30 by the time it ended so we decided to bag the second game. The Revs would win the nightcap in extra innings, I saw on the Internet where it was almost 11:00 before they were done. The next Sunday game in York is on July 12 when the Barnstormers visit. On Monday morning I did my usual lunch at the mall, in the evening we had a single playoff game at the rink. When we were last there we asked all the teams about playing on this night, the only willing participants were MSB and the Killbots. This was the deciding game of their semifinal series, the Killbots won to advance to the West finals. On Tuesday the other two series were set to continue but once again the weather had other ideas. We got started OK at 7:00 but with the knowledge that rain was forecast for later in the evening, the hope was that we could get done before it hit but it didn't work out that way. The Steamers and UniLords were in overtime when the rain started, Jenny called and said it was pouring in Quarryville. I knew from radar that what they were getting there would eventually hit us so we postponed the second game and rescheduled it for Wednesday. The only issue was getting the game in progress done without incident. The UniLords won the game to take a 2-1 advantage in the East final, they can wrap it up on Wednesday as well. Take care, thanks for reading.
