April 29-30

Royals playoff update: it's all over. The club staved off elimination with a win in game #6 on Tuesday but fell 3-2 in the final game on Wednesday. It marks a second straight year of first-round elimination after winning it all in 2013 but the fact that the club has made playoffs for six years running (and ten of the franchise's fourteen seasons overall) speaks well. A preliminary schedule for the '15-16 season is out, with the addition of several new eastern-based clubs the slate has a very different look to it. The season starts on October 17 in South Carolina (proof that the league clearly has a sense of humor), the home opener is on the 24th against Elmira. On Wednesday Jenny and I had lunch together, in the evening we were back at the rink. One West game and three crossovers were on the docket: the Misfits over ProQuality Group, 551 West over Union Station, the Unilords over MSB and the Oil Riggers over JBE Auto Transport. On Thursday there was rain in the forecast but it stayed away from us, we wrapped up the week with two West games and the first two East head-to-head games of the season. In the East the UniLords beat the Oil Riggers and 551 West beat the Steamers, the West games saw American Bar&Grill over McCleary's Pub and JBE Auto Transport over Brendee's. The usual group rotated through as officials, Bri and Ashley had clock duty. Take care, thanks for reading.
