November 29-30

Stopped over at McCaskey on Saturday morning, the basketball team was having a scrimmage with Susquehanna Township (from the Harrisburg area). It started at 10:00 but I was not there for either the start or the finish, I dropped in for about twenty minutes or so before continuing on to Jenny's place for lunch. In the evening we were back in downtown Reading for game #2 with Greenville. There are nights when everything goes your way and other nights where everything goes wrong, this game was most definitely the latter. The visiting Road Warriors skated to a 3-0 lead early in the second period, a score by recent Phantoms assignee Brandon Alderson put the Royals on the board. From there it fell apart in rapid fashion, four unanswered Greenville goals made it 7-1 at the second intermission. The Warriors added another in the third period, scores from Pat Mullane and Adam Comrie brought the Royals to within five but that would be it as Greenville left town with the 8-3 verdict. Connor Knapp played the first two periods and suffered the loss, backup Peter Dundovich (still subbing for Martin Ouellette) worked the third period. The boys hit the midpoint of the ten-game homestand at 9-6-2 (5-4-1 at home), the Toledo Walleye visit on December 4 followed by South Carolina on the 6th and 7th. Nothing of note on Sunday outside of football on TV and a session with the stationary bike, now that the weather is turning the bike is an alternative to walking outdoors. Take care, thanks for reading
