February 13-14

Came down with a scratchy throat overnight into Wednesday, for a while I wondered if I'd be able to work the Royals game in the evening. It was a struggle (I was far below 100%) but I managed to muddle through. The Elmira Jackals were the opponent, on the way down Interstate 81 their bus had a flat tire. The game ended up being delayed until 7:30 and didn't wind down until almost 9:50, the Royals lost 5-3. David Vallorani, Stanislav Galiev and Nikita Kashirshy lit the lamp, Brandon Anderson took the loss in goal. The clubs meet on Friday night in Elmira before returning for another head-to-head meeting at the SC on Saturday (that's our annual Pink In The Rink game). There was one bit of good news on the night as McCaskey defeated Donegal in the league semifinals. The 72-65 win sets up a championship date with Cedar Crest, the second-place finisher in our division. We played CC twice during the regular year and won both but the playoffs are a whole different animal. Went south on Thursday morning to see Jenny on Valentine's Day, the rest of the day was spent at home in the warmth with medicines in hand. I was feeling better as the night went on, hopefully all that's needed is a good solid night's sleep (something I did not get on Wednesday night). Take care, thanks for reading.
