March 26-28

Not much going on Monday or Tuesday outside of the morning errand runs. On Wednesday afternoon the ladies and I headed north on 222 as the Royals hosted the Wheeling Nailers. This was not a playoff game but it felt like one, the tension was at fever pitch most of the night. The story of this game was goaltender Mark Owuya who faced fifty-five Nailer shots and stopped them all for the shutout victory as the Royals won 3-0. It was scoreless in the second period before Denny Urban gave the Royals the lead, Owuya made it stand up until the closing moments when Yannick Tifu and Yannick Riendeau added empty-net goals to round out the scoring. A huge win over a good opponent as the boys continue the push for a playoff spot, the last two games of the season (Friday in Elmira, Saturday at home against Trenton) will tell the story. If the club makes the playoffs it's possible that the first two home games could be on April 3 (bad for me because of baseball) and April 4 (I'd be OK for that) but there is still a way to go. Take care, thanks for reading.
