October 17-21
Typical week for the most part so far: on Monday morning Jenny was in Willow Street for a foot doctor appointment, we had lunch together afterward. On Thursday we did our usual at the pizza parlor in Quarryville. On Thursday night we finished the fifth week of street hockey at the rink, for the second consecutive week the East division was rained out on Wednesday. Every team in that division has played ten games, they have makeups on October 23 and November 6. The West teams have eleven games in the books with makeups on the 23rd only. On Friday evening it was football night at McCaskey, Cedar Crest was the opponent for the annual Homecoming activities. After a win the previous week on the road the Red Tornado make it two straight with a 35-20 decision over CC. Diante Cherry, Josh Ransing and Jonathan Hulyo scored rushing touchdowns for JPM, Hulyo also threw two TD passes (one each to Quashaun Davis and Christian Davidson). After six weeks of porous defensive efforts that unit is coming together, the team won't be in the postseason this year but it's something to build on for the future. The boys are at home again on the 28th against Manheim Township, that is the final home game of the season. Take care, thanks for reading.
